On January 26, 2021, ATRAC held a one-day training course “Basics of accidental oil pollution on the sea” for twelve employees of the company “Cian d.o.o.”, a leading response contactor in the central and southern Adriatic.
The aim of the training was to provide operational staff responsible for field cleaning operations with a complete overview of the behavior and properties of spilled oil at sea, health and safety at work, the impact of pollution on the environment and the economy, initial intervention steps and response methods and specialized equipment used to remove pollution.
Given the fact that these are employees who have already had experience with sea pollution, a very interesting discussion and exchange of experiences was held, which will certainly help them in responding to future pollution of the sea and the marine environment.
