The Italian final event of the Interreg Italy-Croatia CASCADE (CoAStal and marine waters integrated monitoring systems for ecosystems proteCtion AnD managemEnt) project took place on 13 April in Lecce to share and present the results of the project to all stakeholders.
The CASCADE project has as its objectives the protection and recovery of biodiversity in marine and coastal areas in Italy and Croatia. The project’s activities were aimed at defining the effects of extreme events on marine ecosystems, developing methodologies and actions for restoration based on scientific evidence, developing and improving monitoring systems, accessing monitoring data through an information system, implementing pilot actions aimed at restoration and improving integrated management systems.
